To eat ribs or not to eat ribs, that is never the question.
When we saw the “Sold Out” sign on the door of the restaurant in Semarang, it was a sure sign (pun very much intended) to come back and see for ourselves how the ribs tasted.

Sure enough, it tasted awesomeee. That rich goodness of sauce infused to the grilled meat, honey and sesame seeds on top of the ribs. Shout out to the honey for adding another layer of flavour that pleased our taste buds. We did not expect it to be that great. Mostly because it looked good, but it did not look great. Another good thing about this dish: the meat was fall of the bonetastic! It was very tender so good job with that Warung Iga Gila!
One reason why we did not give it a full mark: the sambal. Typically, lots of places like these rely on a kickass sambal to elevate the flavour of the dish. Unfortunately, we have to say that the sambal and the ribs don’t go particularly well together. Because the ribs were already very good, add in the sambal to the equation and damn… flavour ruined. This is not to say that the sambal tasted abyssmal. Nope. It was a solid 3.5/5 but when you have a lamborghini, why put stickers on it am I right? (Not that we have a lamborghini, but yeah, maybe one day who knows). We ended up eating the sambal with the vegetables that come along with it because it tasted pretty decent.
Would we come back and visit the place? Definitely. There are other ribs dishes that we need to try, maybe you’ll see a part 2 or part 3 even. But for now, due to our stomach as well as financial capacity, we can only report this much.
